7 must have accessories for the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch

I have used the Nintendo Switch for a couple of weeks now, and I can truly say that it is an amazing device. However, these accessories will make the life of the daily “Switcher” so much more awesome.

Screen protector

This is the first thing I got myself for the Nintendo Switch. There has been reports of the screen scratching during docking and undocking the console, as well as during daily use. With a screen protector, however, that will be something you will not have to care about.

I prefer a tempered glass screen, as it both looks good and feels nice to the touch. Since the screen on the Nintendo Switch is a touch screen, that is essential.

The screen protector I use is a tempered glass protector from Casebase.

Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

With superior feel as well as an impressive performance, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller enables you to kick ass in any game, any day!

In addition to being a standard controller, that can even be used with a computer via Bluetooth, it features HD Rumble, rechargeable battery as well as an NFC chip to enable Amiibo functionality. It can be charged with an USB type C cable, so you won’t put this charging cable upside down in the middle of a match ever again.

Battery packs for Joy Cons

While they are not released yet, when they will be, the battery packs for the Joy-Cons will be a must-have for your gaming environment. Especially if you plan on playing games with friends at home through local multiplayer, or while playing games that use a lot of the HD rumble feature.

They also will make the grip around the Joy-Cons much easier to handle, especially if you have big hands.

They are set for release in the US on June 16, and is estimated to cost around 30 USD.

Stand case

If you want to have a completely stable Nintendo Switch on unstable surfaces such as your bed for late-night gaming sessions, the little retractable kickstand that is integrated in the Switch is not up to the task. In this case (no pun intended), consider a stand case.

Power bank

It is rather self-explanatory why you would want a power bank for a mobile gaming console. But which one to get? The last thing you should do is buy something cheap and dubious from a unknown seller on eBay. Battery banks, or batteries in general, can be dangerous if they are handled improperly. Thus, the best thing is if you can get something that is certified by an external source or made by a reputable company such as Microsoft or Xiaomi.

I went for the DC-34 by Microsoft, that ticks in at 12000 mAh. That is plenty of power in reserve if you need it! It also has two power outlets in case you also need to charge your phone at the same time. On the side, there is a nifty button that shows the power level.

Protective case

Protective cases are a must on almost every device with a screen. You never know when you will be a bit unlucky and accidently drop or bump your Nintendo Switch into something hard while transporting. The official protective case from Nintendo for the Switch is a great way to avoid those situations!

It has room for the console (of course), the controllers, the cartridges, as well as a protective film for your screen being included.
